Some information on the hotel taken from The Telegraph: The Palace Downtown’s crouching outline, fronted by an elegant palm-tree avenue and ochre-coloured exterior walls, makes a welcome change from the city’s bland, could-be-anywhere skyscraper hotels. The Palace Downtown also has more soul than many other Dubai hotels and the 242 spacious rooms and suites feature Middle-Eastern touches in the form of carved-wood panelling and rich fabrics. Other facilities include a spa, swimming pool and several function rooms. Palace Downtown Dubai Wedding Palace Downtown Dubai Wedding
In Dubai’s Downtown district, five minutes’ walk from the enormous Dubai Mall and a 20-minute drive from Dubai International Airport. The hotel is also well placed for visiting the city’s attractions, such as the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa.Downtown .
The hotel feels like a Middle Eastern club built on Western five-star foundations. In the public spaces, there are inlaid pearl tables, Moroccan lanterns and, in typically Arab style, keyhole-shaped doors. The entrance lobby, adorned with white roses, and a petal-filled pool, has low sofas with bolster cushions, and a wide entrance to the Al Bayt afternoon tea lounge. Shaded sun loungers surround a swimming pool to the rear, forming a chilled-out retreat from the scorching Gulf sun. True to its name, this does feel more like a palace than a hotel. The Palace Downtown is heavily perfumed with oud, which some guests might find overpowering, and the pictures hanging on walls in rooms and corridors look cheap (but probably aren’t).
